Roads studs (popularly known as “cat’s eyes”) are used to give drivers wayfinding guidance on roads. They are especially important in adverse weather conditions, poor visibility and during the hours of darkness. Studs are also used to mark pedestrian crossings. They are available in various sizes and colours and are installed in the centre and along the edge of roads. RSC Group is equipped to carry out road stud the installation throughout Ireland on either a Temporary (normally used in traffic management e.g. contra flow systems, or temporary road works) or Permanent basis.

Studs can be surface-mounted (where the stud is placed to the surface using an adhesive) or core-drilled (where the road surface is mechanically tracked and the stud then is placed in the void and sealed with bitumen grout).
